Two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication – 2FA for short – is a method for more securely verifying a user’s identity.

In addition to entering access data (user name and password), another barrier is set up, which the logging in user must overcome in order to access a protected area.

Technically, there are several ways to implement two-factor authentication. One of these is to send an SMS with an access code to a telephone number stored in the user profile, which is received by a smartphone, for example, after entering the correct access data (username and password). Entering this code into a corresponding login form confirms the user’s identity to the system.

This dual protection significantly increases the security of a protected area because it greatly increases the effort and hurdles for third parties to obtain multiple authentication factors at the same time.

TeamDrive offers you the following two-factor authentication options:

  • Confirmation of identity via link, which is sent to the user in an email after entering correct access data (username and password).
  • Confirmation of identity via Google’s authentication app
